Back in April, we had an event at work for one of our product launches that focused around a New York street-style themed campaign. I wanted the perfect mix of NYC “cool” street style, and femininity. I decided to pair a graphic tee that donned the city’s namesake (got it on sale for $15 at Old Navy) with a black {faux} leather pleated skirt that I got on clearance at Urban Outfitters for $10! I added a chunky chain necklace from BaubleBar and black caged heels (not pictured here), to pull the look together.
My BFF is moving from NYC back to Florida in 2 weeks, and she came to me for advice on what to wear to her going away party. I suggested she head to the nearest street vendor and grab a classic white “I ♥ NY” tee (sold for $5 on many a street corner in NYC). I told her to pair it with a black mini skirt and a chunky glamorous necklace, and she would be all set. She loved the idea, and I can’t wait to see photos of the final result!
I love the contrast of pairing a loose-fitting tee with a girly skirt, and even better when you can add a fun or funky statement necklace.
