It’s back to school week here in my part of Florida, and although I haven’t been in school for some years (though, some days I wish I could go back to freshman year of college and re-live some of those days), the back to school spirit is in the air. On top of back to school season, I’ve been seeing some chic, “grown-up” backpacks these days, so this post comes at no better time.

Between music festivals and tailgating, there is a demand for a hands-free bag that fits a little more than your typical crossbody. I’ve rounded up some perfect options that are fashionable enough to justify a backpack purchase:

YOUR GROWN-UP BACKPACK

What do you think? Are you planning to purchase a super-chic backpack this Fall season?

  1. Definitely think we were reliving some college days over the weekend 🙂
Love backpacks, but hate that there are shady people who will steal from you so that deters me. There’s an Elizabeth & James one that I love, but too paranoid to carry it as a backpack.

    • Haha – yes we were! I agree, sometimes they can easily be unzipped to unsnapped, but I think as long as it’s not a crowded area it’s a lot less likely. (Same with crossbody bags in a crowded area.) You’ll have to show me the Elizabeth & James one!

  2. How funny that you just posted about this (I wrote a guest post for a friend for next week on this topic)- I love this trend and if I didn’t commute to work via train would totally wear it!! The F21 is so cute!!

    • I know – I feel like when we were in college, the options were definitely not as cute! I love the quilted pattern and gold chain details on the F21 one as well!

  3. If I was still going to school, yes, I would probably buy myself a new backpack. Especially the quilted and striped backpacks, those ones look really cute. But then again, I don’t really need a new one anyways since the one that I have is still holding up fine and is still pretty stylish too. Honestly, You should only buy one good backpack that will last your for the entire four years that you’ll spend at college, because think about it? Wouldn’t it be a bit too expensive to spend so much money on a bag that you’ll only use for one year?
