I came across a BuzzFeed post (honestly, what did we do before BuzzFeed? The site could devour my entire morning if I allowed it to), which provided a list of the “25 Awesome Places to Shop in Your Late Twenties and Early Thirties“. I always have friends ask where I shop, and a handful of the stores I often recommend are on this list. Some of the stores on the list that see my credit card from time to time are: ASOS, TJMaxx/Marshalls (I basically live in these two stores), Target (duh), Nordstrom Rack, Anthropologie Clearance Rack (this is hit or miss for me, but I did score this baby for only $30!), and Zara. Some of the others I haven’t really ventured to, but it’s a great reminder of what stores you can drop into or browse online when you are looking for some new inspiration or you’re not finding the pieces you are looking for.

I’ve put together my own little list of additional options that are not on BuzzFeed’s list, but that I feel are necessary additions:

MACY’S: I’m always posting about my incredible clearance finds at Macy’s, and I have a Macy’s credit card, so I always get 20% off of all items!

BLOOMINGDALE’S CLEARANCE: I have found some great items on the Bloomie’s Clearance Rack. Also, if you sign up for a Loyalist Card (it’s free, and it’s not a credit card, just a loyalty card), you always get free shipping online, plus other perks!

OLD NAVY: Old Navy didn’t used to be as stylish as it now is. The past few years, they have really gotten on board with current trends. I’ve found some perfect options here for skinny jeans, ankle booties, chunky sweaters, and basic and well-fitting tees.

H&M: How did this not make the list? I have a huge soft spot in my heart for this store. Although sometimes their sizing is a bit odd, I have gotten some crazy deals at this store, including tops, dresses, and skirts for $5 and $7 (spot more of them here, here, and here)! Even at full price, their items are great options for budget-friendly stylish basics, or super trendy items that might not be in style for long.

  1. I second the Bloomie’s clearance rack! They have such good sales there, especially when you have one of the extra coupons. I’ve found many a designer item for a fraction of their original prices. Esp in SF and NYC!

    • Yes – ASOS and Nordstrom Rack were on the original BuzzFeed list, and I definitely second those choices! They always have such great finds on a friendly budget! Macy’s in one of my all time favorite stores 🙂

  2. Love your picks! As a UK reader, my picks are obviously different (Boohoo, Miss Selfridge & MissGuided are some of my favourite), but your suggestions are on point regardless! (I used to live in Canada, so I know most of the shops you mentioned). <3

    • Thanks! I’ve been on the Boohoo website before, but I have yet to order from them. I will have to browse around again!
