Galentine’s Day Recap

Every girl needs a “Galentine’s Day”. The phrase was made popular by one of my fave shows, Parks and Rec, and it’s a day/night around Valentine’s Day where you get together with your best girlfriends to spend some quality girl time. Whether you have a Valentine or not, it’s a necessity to get in some gal-pal time! One of my closest friends and fellow fashion blogger, Danielle from the blog Shikshin, and I hosted a Galentine’s Day dinner at a local sushi restaurant with some of our girlfriends. We had a ton of fun, filled with sushi, cocktails, cupcakes and some amazing lip products from Makeup Academy! CVS Beauty Club provided all of our guests with 3 different products, and we had so much fun playing with them! Do you do a “Galentine’s Day” with your girlfriends? What does yours involve? Hunting for Horn (Accessories)

I’ve been browsing a lot of “horn” necklaces lately (this House of Harlow necklace I saw and tweeted about seemed to be a hit!), and it led me to even more exploration of horn accessories of all different kinds. Whether they are literal horn pendants, or beautiful bangles made of horn-style material, I’m all about it lately! I’m especially a little overly excited about this Nicole by Nicole Miller Two-Tone Horn Layered Necklace (for $23.50!): On my horn-hunt, I’ve hunted and gathered links to all sorts of horn accessories for you to browse: Do you have any favorite horned accessories that you love? Shoes for “Husband Hunting” and “Walk of Shame”

I came across an online article this morning, questioning the new Nine West tongue-in-cheek ads. Some are calling their latest ad campaign “gross”, and “silly and insulting”. As a marketing junkie who also went to school for Advertising and Public Relations (and a lover of fashion), I don’t mind the playful headlines. I find them pretty harmless and witty, and I don’t take offense to them. Maybe it’s because I’m a sarcastic personality, or maybe it’s because I don’t think Nine West shoe ads could be “damaging to women’s health”. What do you think about the new ads? Offensive and harmful, or witty and playful?

HOLY H&M Sale

Whoa, mama! H&M is having a HUGE, I repeat, HUGE online sale! They are giving an ADDITIONAL 50% off all sale items! This is an enormous markdown, with jeans, shoes, sweaters, and tops coming in at prices like $2.50!! I added a handful of items to my cart yesterday, but by the time I checked out, some of them were already sold out 🙁 After all was said I done, I walked away with 2 items (which was definitely okay, as I didn’t need to be shopping to begin with), but the 2 items were an absolute STEAL: Were you able to score anything from this incredible sale?

Bootie Love

Get your mind out of the gutter! I’m talking about shoe bootie love, and how my craving for the perfect black heeled shoe bootie is back and bigger than ever! Before we turn around, it’s going to be Fall and I’ll be traveling to NYC several times this Fall/Winter, so I definitely need a new hot black bootie!I had a pair that I dearly loved – closed toe, chunky heel, super comfy, and hit at just the right spot, right above my ankles. I got them on MAJ clearance (umm, hello $5 perfect bootie) (P.S. I may set a record for the number of times I use the word “bootie” in a blog post), and they lasted me through several seasons, but the faux black leather on the toes is now starting to crack and peel, so it’s time to retire them.As I’ve posted many times before, I love DSW,…
