If you follow me on Twitter and/or Instagram, you probably saw me posting pictures last weekend/early this week of my excursions around NYC.  I was there Labor Day weekend to visit my best friend, and along with galavanting around the city and lots of eating, we of course managed to do some shopping.

My friend had to work on Friday, so I ran around the city by myself, of course making a long pit stop at the Macy’s in Herald Square – my favorite Macy’s, and the world’s largest store! I could easily spend an entire day roaming around the eight floor empire, especially since they have a handful of restaurants and cafes right inside!
I found these amazing Via Spiga “Nellie” cashew colored cutout heels (originally $280) for less than $50 after my Macy’s coupon! They were on clearance for 75% off, and I got another 20% off with my coupon/Macy’s card. They are still full price in most other retailers (you can see them here, on Nordstrom’s website still priced at $250).  I love the neutral color and the laser-cut style perforations.

I also found these great, black leather Cole Haan wedges, also for under $50 (originally priced at $230). These were a huge hit that day. Women were walking around with both the black and brown version, scouting the clearance racks for ones in their size. They are a perfect comfy and casual wedge, and a classic look that won’t go out of style. You can find them here on sale on the Macy’s website (not quite as deep of a discount as I got, but Macy’s is always running sales for an additional 20% off, etc…)

After meeting my friend back at her apartment so we could change and get ready for the evening, we headed out with another friend for some mexican and margaritas, followed by a glass of champagne at 230 Fifth, a rooftop bar with an incredible view of the Empire State Building. After that, we went across the street to Toshi’s, a bar with live music. There was a group performing old school songs along with new and popular songs, including Robin Thicke and Icona Pop – I posted this Instagram video while we were there!
On Sunday, we headed out to the Brooklyn Flea in Williamsburg, an outdoor flea market with vendors selling handmade crafts, vintage items, art, collectibles, furniture, and jewelry. On the way, we stumbled into Artists and Fleas, a dynamic indoor market with some really great items – especially handmade jewelry!
My friend and I were instantly drawn to the vendor table of Marina, from Giorgie Jewelry. She had a variety of her handmade jewelry, including a lot of dainty, feminine pieces. I spotted the below necklace, and knew I had to have it!  It was originally a 16″ chain, but Marina was able to add it extension to it on the spot so that I have the option of shortening it to 14″ and it can sit high on my neck. I’ve been looking for something dainty and simple to sit higher on my neck that I could wear alone, or layer with another 16″ necklace, and this was perfect!
It’s a simple gold cube and it’s fastened to the chain, unlike pendants that slip around where you end up constantly adjusting it throughout the day.  Marina also has an etsy shop, so you can shop her jewelry online, here!

Now, onto my other A-MAZING find at Artists and Fleas. Metal Taboo is a handmade jewelry shop that engraves their dainty charms with vulgar sayings. Seeing as I self-admittedly have a mouth like a sailor, truck driver, whatever you want to call it, the below bracelet was the perfect fit for me.

My best friend got the same bracelet but hers has a small gold disc, rather than a heart. I love the items from their shop, and they are the perfect gift for those specific friends who would appreciate it. There are necklaces, bracelets and keychains with tons of sayings including but definitely not limited to: MILF, FML, Best Bitches (as a two or three piece BFF necklace), Hot Mess, Slore, Bad Ass, Lush, Bitch, and Sexpot. They also make custom pieces, if you have your own dirty word in mind, that you want engraved to wear. You can also buy their items through the Metal Taboo etsy shop, here.
Once we got to the actual Brooklyn Flea, we were starving. We dug in to some delicious food, and took in the beautiful view of Manhattan!
{Um, Yum!}

That night, we had dinner at Cafeteria, one of my favorite dinner spots in NYC!

Monday was spent roaming the city a bit more and indulging in Shake Shack, and I had some work meetings on Tuesday, but we made it over to the Birreria at Eataly on Tuesday night for some wine, food, and a beautiful rooftop view!

Wednesday morning before my flight home we popped into Joe Fresh, since I had still never been! I found a cute and simple white tank on clearance for less than $6, and I found the below two items which I absolutely LOVE!

The blue printed shorts were on sale for $20, and the bright yellow peplum was regular-priced, but still a steal at $29! Here are some close-up shots, where you can see the materials a little better:

All in all, it was another fun and successful trip to NYC.  I’ll be back a few more times this year, and of course, I can’t wait!
