Recap from Aventura Lucky/Dior Pretty Party!

As you may have read here, I was invited to attend a Lucky Magazine Dior Pretty Party here in South Florida last Friday. The event was hosted by Brittany of the blog Clumps of Mascara, and it was a hit!

We met at the Dior counter in Bloomingdales, and we were escorted to a private, sectioned off area in the back of the makeup department. We started off with some yummy cupcakes!

National Skincare Specialist, Sheba, walked us through some fun Dior facts, as well as a complete makeup application using Dior products. As she demonstrated the steps on several of the girls, Dior freelance makeup artists applied complete makeup looks on all of the guests.

We learned about some of the must-have Dior skincare products and cosmetics:

L’Or De Vie – This is a concentrated, yet light, refreshing eye cream. It absorbs into the skin, and anti-oxidants help to smooth skin around the eyes. The freelance artists prepped our makeup look by gently applying this cream to our eye area. Although I am young and don’t have any wrinkles, I instantly saw that my eyes look awakened and radiant – I looked refreshed. This cream takes away any puffiness, and you can apply your concealer directly on top of it (or Dior Skinflash which I am going to talk about next!).

Skinflash – This product is a concealer and eye illuminator in one. It comes in three shades, and as it conceals and hides shadows, it brightens the eye area and gives skin a radiant glow. You can apply it to bare skin, under your foundation, or on top of it.

Brow Styler – This defining brow pencil is a must-have tool that fills-in, defines, and shapes. I found it really interesting that it only comes in one universally flattering shade, so women of all skin tones and hair color can use the exact same pencil.

Diorshow Maximizer – Part of the infamous Diorshow line, this is a lash primer serum that preps, primes, plumps, and lengthens lashes before mascara application. It also contains hydrolyzed soy proteins to strengthen lashes, and promote healthy lash growth and vitality.

Diorshow Mascara – This mascara needs no introduction – it is one of Dior’s topsellers, and as part of the fun Dior trivia Sheba shared with us, we learned that one Diorshow Mascara is sold every 6 seconds! It thickens, lengthens, and curls, and result is perfect glamorous, black lashes.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer – This lip plumping gloss gives lips an instant pick-me-up (without painful stinging or tingling that other lip plumping products tend to have). It has a refreshing cooling sensation, and also helps to stimulate your lips’ natural collagen production. It helps maximize and contour lips in only 15 days, and can be worn alone, under your favorite colored gloss, or over lipstick.
