I recently got the opportunity to test out some products for Pevonia Botanica. Pevonia Botanica is a natural, organic skincare line offered by luxury spas worldwide. During the in-spa treatments, certified skincare specialists conduct an in-depth skin analysis, and provide you with services that best fit your needs. You can then purchase the products specific to your skin needs, and maintain a healthy skin regimen at home.

First off, the products (minus the self-tanning emulsion) came in this super-cute chic box:

Silky Skin Body Scrub

I started off with the Silky Skin Body Scrub which was perfect to use before the Self-Tanning Emulsion. The scrub has a granular texture to help remove impurities and exfoliate the skin. It has Jojoba Beads, Rosemary, Sage, and Allantoin, which all help to smooth and soften the skin. Your skin can be wet or dry when applying it, (the first instructions I read in the pamphlet said dry, so I applied it to dry) and a little goes a long way. I tested it on my legs, making sure I covered all areas, as to get full results. As I rinsed the grainy texture off, it really did leave my skin feeling silky smooth. I felt like my legs were really clean and my skin felt hydrated as if it moisturized them too. It did a great job preparing my skin for the self-tanner.

Self-Tanning Emulsion

L-O-V-E this! I wasn’t exactly sure what kind of results I would get from this, because it is so different from other self-tanners I’ve tried. It ‘s bronze in color, like other’s I have tried, but the consistency is totally different. It was a very thin, smooth lotion, which made it a lot easier to apply because it was so easy to rub in and spread around. As I mentioned, it comes out bronze, but as I rubbed it in, it started to turn white. I’m not sure if that’s intentional to help show you where you’ve rubbed it in, but it kind of helped. They recommend that you apply it twice the first time you use it, and I agree. It gave me a golden brown (not orange) tan, and I applied it twice. Another AMAZING aspect: NO STREAKS! I have other self-tanners that I adore, but whenever I decide to apply it to my arms, the inside of my arms (the part that’s naturally whiter) always get splotchy and/or orange since that part of my arms never really gets tan. Amazingly, this part of my arms got some nice, even color. NO splotchy-ness! The tan is soo natural looking and this product is def going to become my primary self-tanner.

Dry Oil Body Moisturizer

I’ve never really used a dry oil body moisturizer – I usually use lotions, so I was excited to try this out. With the word “oil” in the name, I was nervous as to whether it was going to leave my skin greasy. As you rub it in and let it dry, it absorbs right into the skin and takes on the role of a lotion. I didn’t even have to wash my hands after – I just rubbed in to my hands and arms some more. It has Squalane Oil, Safflower Oil, Aloe Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Lavender Oil, and Chamomile to replenish and soften the skin.
